5 THINGS I ACTUALLY USED POSTPARTUM

Nothing really prepares you for those first few weeks after having a baby — it’s a mix of healing, surviving on very little sleep, and figuring everything out as you go.

These are a few things I actually found helpful postpartum — small things that made a big difference day to day.

1. FRIDA MOM DISPOSABLE KNICKERS

Oh yes, we’re jumping straight in…

These don’t look like much but your body will thank you. They’re soft, breathable and basically feel like a supportive hug. Also perfect for our c-section mamas thanks to the high waist (speaking from personal experience).

2. LANSINOH PERI BOTTLE

Thank me later.

Everyone said going for a wee after birth would sting. It didn’t (don’t believe everything you hear — we’re all different!) but I did have a couple of stitches and this handy bottle made it so easy to keep the area clean in the first few days when toilet paper felt a little too harsh.

3. LED DIMMABLE NIGHT LIGHT

One for the night feeds.

A soft, dimmable light is a game changer in those early weeks. It’s bright enough to see what you’re doing for feeds and changes, but gentle enough to keep the room calm and not fully wake everyone up.

4. STANLEY FLIP STRAW WATER BOTTLE

Don’t forget about you!

When you’re taking care of a brand new little person, it’s so easy to forget about yourself. Having a large water bottle nearby just makes it so much easier to stay hydrated, which is so important while your body is healing postpartum.

Anything similar works, but I like that this one can just go straight in the dishwasher & keeps my drink cold for hours.

5. H&M NURSING VESTS

Comfort with support.

These were a go-to for me postpartum (and for quite a few months after!). They really helped me feel more confident in the first few weeks after birth when my tummy felt a bit soft and unfamiliar — I wore them constantly in those early weeks. They’re great even if you aren’t breastfeeding, especially if you find traditional bras uncomfortable.
